Adidas Reveals Fifa game ball

“The FIFA World Cup final is the most important match in the history of sport. There really is no greater thing than to play in a World Cup final. That is why I think it is a fantastic idea to have a very special ball especially for this match,” said Franz Beckenbauer President of the FIFA World Cup™ Organizing Committee: “Sure, the ball will still be round, no change there. But it will be a very special game and it is going to be played with a golden match ball that was especially designed for it. I think that's absolutely fantastic!”

FIFA World cup Logo

The 2006 FIFA World Cup logo was unveiled on 19 Nov 2002. The logo depicts three laughing faces in yellow, blue and green forming the symbol '006' and inviting the world to a party for the next World Cup. The slogan in English translates as 'Friends invite the world' (Die Welt zu Gast bei Freunden). According to World Cup organizing committee president Franz Beckenbauer the logo should be referred to as 'the celebrating faces of football' and aims to convey the message that Germany will be a welcoming and friendly host. 'We believe that the new emblem perfectly expresses our philosophy of having a buoyant, cheerful and carefree tournament in 2006," the former German coach and playing legend added. 'Everybody knows that we're good at organising but we wanted to convey an other, warmer and friendlier image of Germany.'

FIFA began its moving process on 28 April 2006 after receiving the key to the building in a small ceremony witnessed by a number of guests, representatives of the worlds of business and politics and the general contractor responsible for constructing the new headquarters. Over the weekend of 6-7 May, the FIFA employees who have been spread around various buildings in Zurich will move into their new offices, followed by their colleagues from the FIFA Marketing & TV Division in Zug a week later (13-14 May)

FIFA Womans world cup

On Saturday 21 April, the eve of the eagerly-awaited draw for the FIFA Women's World Cup China 2007, the FIFA Women's World Stars take on the Chinese national team. The star-studded world select XI will be coached by Tina Theune-Meyer, who led Germany to FIFA World Cup glory in 2003, and Hope Powell, currently in charge of 2007 FIFA World Cup hopefuls England.
